Whats Up Monday

Today marks the beginning of week 3 for Basic Instinct Krav Maga in Sheridan and although the time has flown as it tends to do, in a weird way it seems like the group we have has been working together much longer! The schedule is new, the name is new, the website and business aspect of things are new but the training comes from a system that has been being built on for many years! While working through defenses with the group in class tonight, I caught myself telling the class to trust the process, the training is taught the way it is because this works and this system is proven effective! I am seeing students already come to a time of transition in their mindsets, self-esteem, confidence or realization of how they see themselves and others.

While some have easily grown in confidence and skills; others have had to work a little harder. Regardless, all are reaching a point that is new and intimidating in the way they are seeing themselves, life, self defense, safety and their world as a whole! They are coming to a crossroad and this is where the heart and soul of Krav Maga is manifested! They are discovering a new found sense of security, self-worth, confidence, awareness…they are coming to realize they are capable of learning and growing in the Krav Maga self defense system and in turn growing as individuals! Where some were timid they are becoming bold. Where some were beat down from life, they are beginning to feel alive. Where some were at a loss at how to feel like anything mattered anymore, they are beginning to find what/who they would fight to save and are beginning to train like they would fight to save even themselves!

Krav Maga’s moto is “That one my walk in peace!” This peace is ultimately knowning we have the ability to go home safely at the end of the day no matter what we face, but the peace goes much deeper than the physical peace and safety. It’s the mental and emotional peace that comes with the growth as an individual, in learning who we are, what we’re capable of, what is of true importance and how to walk with integrity!

If these changes can be seen in just 3 weeks time, imagine what a lifetime of committing to training in this amazing system could do!
